Adoption of Baby Duncan, 2009 ME 85. Attorney Berry represented the adoptive parents who prevailed in a trial and on subsequent appeal to the law court, against a birth father who was in prison for manslaughter.
Adoption of M.A. et al, 2007 ME 123. Attorney Berry represented adoptive parents who were not married and wanted to jointly adopt. This case changed the law in Maine to allow second parent adoptions.
Guardianship of I.H., 2003 ME 130. Attorney Berry represented a single parent who prevailed in her request to allow her partner to share equally in the raising of a child. This case established that the law in Maine allows the sharing of parental responsibilities between a legal parent and a non legal parent.
Arnott vs Arnott , 2000. Attorney Berry, representing the Plaintiff wife, successfully won an appeal of a divorce matter in which the definition of irreconcilable differences was an issue as grounds for divorce.
